The game never gives us any sort of “confirmation” on their love, if you will. There’s never any “oh, this scene or that scene” or whatever. Unless I have missed something, which is very possible, it’s more all just left up as an understood, subtextual clues, and general personal opinion. Like him taking her back above jackson, finding her during winter, whatever

But show TLOU having a part where the creators have said “this is how they say I love you without saying it” and then watching the scene back and realizing, just in their expressions, that that is EXACTLY what they’re saying is so. it’s kind of crazy to have that confirmation in this canon. To watch that scene over and over think back on and know this

Now, obviously they’ve loved each other a long time, and you could argue when you think it kicks in. but what matters is that this is them telling it to each other.
